Record grading system
M - Mint: perfect condition; no marks or sound deterioration; the cover and any extra items, such as lyric sheets, posters, etc. are also perfect.
NM - Near Mint: almost perfect condition - probably played just a few times.
E - Excellent: the record has been played, but there is no reduction in sound quality; cover and any extras show some signs of wear.
VG - Very Good: the record has been played many times and there may be marks and occasional light scratches, but has no significant loss of sound quality; cover shows normal wear and tear.
G - Good: the record has been played so many times that its sound quality has become poor; there may be minor distortion and some scratches; cover is folded, scuffed, torn, etc.
F - Fair: the record is just about playable and the cover in poor condition.
X - Execrable: the record is useful as a replacement frisbee or for serving the dog's dinner.
WoL - Writing on Label: usually just the owner's name or initials.
